Inpatient Medication Orders are structured medication schedules for admitted patients, different from outpatient prescriptions.

Creating Medication Orders

Medication orders can be:

• Auto-created from encounter prescriptions (if configured in Healthcare Settings)
• Manually created from the Inpatient Record

Field	Description
Patient	The admitted patient
Practitioner	Ordering physician
Start Date	When to begin the medication
End Date	When to stop
Order Entries	List of medications with timing

Order Entry Details

Each medication in the order includes:

Field	Description
Drug	Medication name
Dosage	Amount per administration
Dosage Form	Tablet, Injection, IV, etc.
Route	Oral, IV, IM, Subcutaneous, etc.
Interval	Every 4 hours, Every 8 hours, Once daily, etc.
Period	Duration of the order
